February 11, 2025 – The sixth national #cuoriconnessi event took place in Rome, the awareness initiative against cyberbullying and in favor of a conscious use of the network and technology, launched in 2016 and carried out by Unieuro in collaboration with the State Police.

The theme of the day was the stories of the new #cuoriconnessi volume, the sixth in the series, written by Luca Pagliari, which can already be downloaded for free on cuoriconnessi.it in data-free mode. The paper version of the book is already available at all Unieuro stores without any purchase obligation and will also be distributed in schools throughout Italy by the COSCs (Cyber Security Operational Centers) of the Postal Police.

A new book, eight new stories, to continue to observe and listen to the universe of young people, the digital world and the rapid changes imposed by the evolution of technology. A volume that confirms itself as a valuable tool to create a dialogue with young people on online safety and legality and to promote an increasingly mature and effective awareness of the use of the network and devices.

The Chief of Police – General Director of Public Security Prefect Vittorio Pisani and Maria Bruna Olivieri, Country Manager Italy of Unieuro, a company of the FNAC-Darty Group, spoke in the first part of the event, reiterating the importance of a project that renews year after year the virtuous collaboration between public and private sectors.

“In a world where technological development is advancing too quickly to be promptly regulated by the legislator, it becomes necessary to help the new generations to become more aware of the dangers that lie hidden online. In this context, collaborating with leading private companies in the sector becomes fundamental to promote awareness initiatives on the use of these new tools. However, I would like to remind young people that real life is offline and that new technologies must remain only a tool at our service to be used responsibly.”

“Being a leading brand for us means feeling part of the community, responding to the social, environmental and ethical needs of society, central themes on which we are and will be increasingly involved and responsible. For this reason, for almost ten years we have been promoting a conscious use of technology, an integral part of our daily life and that of our children with the #cuoriconnessi project, born and grown thanks to the precious collaboration with the State Police. We will continue to remain at the forefront to observe and listen to the new generations and to make our contribution so that technology is increasingly a bridge to build a more aware and safe society.”

Among the most significant interventions, in video connection from Crema, was that of Father Benanti, President of the AI Commission for Information and advisor to Pope Francis on issues of artificial intelligence and the ethics of technology, who focused on the new opportunities, but also the new dangers of AI, which this year is also at the center of one of the stories in the new volume. The first part of the event concluded with the speech by the Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of the Interior, the Hon. Nicola Molteni, in which he thanked the State Police and Unieuro for their commitment to enhancing the project.

The protagonist of the day was also Riccardo Aldighieri, youtuber and tiktoker of the year 2024, followed by over 4.3 million followers, who defines himself as a “disabled trap” and who proudly tells how he managed to transform his disability into the strong point of his existence, against all stereotypes and all haters. “My disability does not define me, I am simply Riccardo. And thanks to social media, I can tell myself for who I am”, he declared.

Ample space was also dedicated to the theme of re-socialization and re-education of minors who commit online crimes, with the screening of the trailer of “It’s not worth it”, the docufilm available for all Italian schools on the cuoriconnessi.it website.

In video connection from Reggio Calabria, the Prosecutor Dr. Roberto Placido di Palma reiterated the importance of the “probation” path.

Also present in the hall was the Paralympic athlete Fiamme Oro of the State Police Donato Telesco, bronze medalist in Paris 2024 who, with his personal story characterized by the ability to overcome obstacles and achieve high-level sports goals, represents a precious example of courage and resilience.

During the round table with the Director of the Postal Police Service Ivano Gabrielli, the Lawyer Guido Scorza, Member of the College of the Guarantor for the Protection of Personal Data, Dr. Roberta Mastichella of the Postal Police and Marco Titi, Marketing Director of Unieuro, they discussed the importance of an increasingly synergistic collaboration between institutions, law enforcement, schools and parents so that the web is increasingly a safe place for children, a place of opportunities, growth open to discussion and against all discrimination.
