\u201c10 Years of Technology with a Heart\u201d: #Cuoriconnessi Marks Its 10th Anniversary with Two Major Events<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On February 10, 2026, to mark Safer Internet Day, #cuoriconnessi\u2014the initiative promoted by Unieuro in partnership with the Italian State Police\u2014celebrated its tenth anniversary with a national event at Rome\u2019s Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The numbers highlight the project\u2019s growing impact: more than 1,200 students attended in person<\/strong>, while over 241,000 joined via live stream from schools across Italy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s format<\/strong> was refreshed<\/strong> to better connect with younger audiences. Alongside journalist Luca Pagliari<\/strong>, two popular content creators, Emily Shaqiri and Alessandro Tomatis<\/strong>, hosted the event, with additional contributions from Pier Glionna, Anastasia Di Lorenzo and Nate Iacono<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The morning opened<\/strong> with remarks from Ivano Gabrielli, Director of the Postal and Cybersecurity Police Service<\/strong>, and Bruna Olivieri, Country Manager of Unieuro<\/strong>. Both speakers reaffirmed their shared commitment to listening to young people<\/strong>, raising awareness around digital risks<\/strong>, and encouraging meaningful<\/strong> dialogue between generations<\/strong>\u2014so that no young person feels alone online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday we celebrate a milestone that fills us with pride: ten years of #Cuoriconnessi. Over the past decade, Unieuro and the State Police have shown that when public institutions and private companies truly believe in a shared mission, they can build something extraordinary together. We have distributed 2.5 million copies of our books free of charge\u2014in stores, online and through the Cybersecurity Operations Centers\u2014reaching tens of thousands of teachers and students across Italy. These books have become powerful tools for discussion and reflection, both in classrooms and at home.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With #cuoriconnessi, we don\u2019t lecture young people or judge them\u2014we listen and give space to their stories. Today alone, 241,000 students are connected via streaming and 1,200 are here with us in the auditorium. We believe that technology without empathy cannot truly drive progress. That\u2019s why we must continue sharing real stories and experiences, helping both young people and adults shape a digital world that is safer, more inclusive and more human<\/em>,\u201d said Bruna Olivieri, Unieuro\u2019s Country Manager<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seventh book<\/strong> in the #cuoriconnessi<\/strong> series provided the narrative thread for the event, brought to life through readings<\/strong> and firsthand testimonies<\/strong>. Among the most moving was the story shared by Katia and Nello Cascone, parents of Alessandro, who lost his life after experiencing cyberbullying<\/strong>. Through their grief, they have found the strength<\/strong> to raise awareness and help prevent other families from facing the same tragedy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also speaking on stage was Iris Di Domenico<\/strong>, a young content creator and radio host<\/strong>, who shared her personal journey of resilience following bullying<\/strong> and offered a perspective on digital life<\/strong> that resonates strongly with her peers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new book features illustrations<\/strong> by Margherita Caspani<\/strong>, a Milan-based artist and recipient of several international awards<\/strong>. For the first time, this year\u2019s audiobook<\/strong> edition<\/strong> will also include readings by content creators Giusy and Martina Di Fratta, Samu Mara and Iris Di Domenico<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the day, one core<\/strong> message<\/strong> stood out: technology fulfills its promise only when it remains deeply connected to people and their humanity<\/strong>. This principle continues to guide #cuoriconnessi<\/strong>\u2019s mission\u2014because even in an ever-evolving digital landscape, behind every screen there are real stories, real emotions and real lives<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To mark its tenth anniversary, the initiative expanded its reach<\/strong>. In addition to the student-focused event, an afternoon session was held at the Auditorium\u2019s Sala Sinopoli and dedicated specifically to parents<\/strong>. The discussion explored the challenges and opportunities of the online world<\/strong> and emerging technologies<\/strong>, helping families better understand how young people engage with digital platforms today<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speakers included Gianluca Dradi, Principal of the \u201cNervi-Severini\u201d Art and Music High School in Ravenna<\/strong>; Vincenzo Schettini\u2014teacher, musician and TV presenter<\/strong>, widely known for his YouTube channel \u201cLa fisica che ci piace\u201d(\u201cThe Physics We Love\u201d)<\/strong>; and psychiatrist and addiction specialist Enrico Teta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
