The first retail and wholesale point of sale was born in 1958. This is where our story begins.<\/p>\n\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n        <hr class=\"alignfull\">\n      <div class=\"timeline-step\" id=\"thor-block_46162b4316f6752b9926c0063e5cf625-1\">\n        <div class=\"content-wrapper\">\n          <div class=\"date\">\n            <span>\n              1980-82\n            <\/span>\n          <\/div>\n          <div class=\"description\">\n            <h4>Growth <\/h4>\n            <p>In 1980, a generational transition was completed with the establishment of SGM Distribuzione (the current Unieuro S.p.A.) led by <strong>Giuseppe<\/strong> and <strong>Maria Grazia Silvestrini<\/strong>. With big ideas and plans to match, in 1982 we opened our first megastore in <strong>Forl\u00ec<\/strong>, the historic <strong>Marco Polo<\/strong> in Viale Roma.<\/p>\n\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n        <hr class=\"alignfull\">\n      <div class=\"timeline-step\" id=\"thor-block_46162b4316f6752b9926c0063e5cf625-2\">\n        <div class=\"content-wrapper\">\n          <div class=\"date\">\n            <span>\n              2000-01\n            <\/span>\n          <\/div>\n          <div class=\"description\">\n            <h4>Evolution <\/h4>\n            <p>In 2000 we entered <strong>Gruppo Expert S.p.A<\/strong>. leaving behind the borders of Emilia-Romagna, consolidating our presence through Northern and Central Italy. In 2001 we took another big step: we adopted the <strong>Marco Polo-Expert<\/strong> banner and launched <strong>marcopoloshop.it,<\/strong> a truly pioneer e-commerce site in Italy where customers had the possibility to order online and collect in stores. A multi-channel retail approach was born.<\/p>\n\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n        <hr class=\"alignfull\">\n      <div class=\"timeline-step\" id=\"thor-block_46162b4316f6752b9926c0063e5cf625-3\">\n        <div class=\"content-wrapper\">\n          <div class=\"date\">\n            <span>\n              2005-12\n            <\/span>\n          <\/div>\n          <div class=\"description\">\n            <h4>Further growth <\/h4>\n            <p>In 2005, the international fund <strong>Rh\u00f4ne Capital<\/strong> acquired 100% of SGM Distribuzione. The expansion of our commercial network continued, culminating in a series of strategic acquisitions of important market players: a driving force, that in just a few years would <strong>quadruple our points of sale.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n        <hr class=\"alignfull\">\n      <div class=\"timeline-step\" id=\"thor-block_46162b4316f6752b9926c0063e5cf625-4\">\n        <div class=\"content-wrapper\">\n          <div class=\"date\">\n            <span>\n              2013-15\n            <\/span>\n          <\/div>\n          <div class=\"description\">\n            <h4>The new Unieuro <\/h4>\n            <p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2013 <\/span><b>complete control of<\/b> <b>Unieuro was acquired<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a chain of some 94 stores throughout Italy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2014 we parted ways with the Expert Group and re-established the Unieuro brand, creating a single brand with 173 direct points of sale, over 230 affiliates and 2 e-commerce sites.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2015 we acquired eight stores located within the main Italian airports, entering into a new retail sector for us:<\/span><b> travel retail<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The new Unieuro becomes a joint-stock company, and we launch the <\/span><b>new e-commerce platform<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with a complete rebranding and relaunch of the unieuro.it website and a <\/span><b>new mobile app<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2016 we give life to <\/span><b>#cuoriconnessi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: A tour working with the State Police department and with the goal of working with schools to raise awareness on the dangers of cyberbullying and on the correct and conscious use of technology, involving millions of children throughout Italy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n        <hr class=\"alignfull\">\n      <div class=\"timeline-step\" id=\"thor-block_46162b4316f6752b9926c0063e5cf625-5\">\n        <div class=\"content-wrapper\">\n          <div class=\"date\">\n            <span>\n              2017-20\n            <\/span>\n          <\/div>\n          <div class=\"description\">\n            <h4>A star shines <\/h4>\n            <p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On 4th April 2017 Unieuro entered into the Stock Exchange. The only consumer electronics retailer in Italy listed in the <\/span><b>STAR segment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In the same year we acquired another 40 points of sale. In 2018 our new central distribution platform was inaugurated in Piacenza, in 2019 we entered the large-scale retail trade sector with 21 shop-in-shops as well as entering the Sicilian retail market by acquiring 12 points of sale in <\/span><b>Sicily<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Rh\u00f4ne Capital exits the capital and we become a <\/span><b>public company<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: the first Italian network, in terms of both extension and turnover.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n        <hr class=\"alignfull\">\n      <div class=\"timeline-step\" id=\"thor-block_46162b4316f6752b9926c0063e5cf625-6\">\n        <div class=\"content-wrapper\">\n          <div class=\"date\">\n            <span>\n              2021-24\n            <\/span>\n          <\/div>\n          <div class=\"description\">\n            <h4>From Forl\u00ec to the future <\/h4>\n            <p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2021, we move our headquarters to the prestigious <\/span><b>Palazzo Hercolani in Forl\u00ec<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: a longstanding commitment toward a city that has accompanied us throughout our journey. In 2023 the story continues with the acquisition of the share capital of <\/span><b>Covercare S.p.A<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. A move conforming to our &#8220;<\/span><b>Beyond Omni-Journey<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n        <hr class=\"alignfull\">\n      <div class=\"timeline-step\" id=\"thor-block_46162b4316f6752b9926c0063e5cf625-7\">\n        <div class=\"content-wrapper\">\n          <div class=\"date\">\n            <span>\n              2025\n            <\/span>\n          <\/div>\n          <div class=\"description\">\n            <h4>A new European chapter <\/h4>\n            <p>Unieuro joins the <strong>Fnac Darty group<\/strong>, one of the leading European players in the consumer electronics, home appliances, publishing, and services sector. A <strong>new chapter<\/strong> in our history, a union that strengthens our leadership and will allow us to continue our <strong>growth<\/strong> and <strong>transformation<\/strong> journey, offering Italian consumers an even more integrated and innovative experience in an increasingly competitive context.
